Well, that was an adventure. After bring gone for over a week, we came home to a broken water line. It took several days, two well drillers/repairmen, a plumber, and an excavator to get things working again.
That means I'll be getting up to speed just as Christmas arrives. Just kidding. The line broke again the next day.
Living without water for just a few days was a powerful reminder of how hard things must be for those who dealt with hurricanes this year. I can't imagine going without electricity at the same time.
We took a family vacation to a place we had never been - a place we thought we wouldn't go to anytime soon. Knowing almost zero French and having few plans, we explored Paris. We visited the Eiffel Tower, the Lourve, the Arc de Triomphe, La Grande Arche de la Défense, Musée d'Orsay. We rode the Metropolitan. We walked. And walked. And then walked some more. We ate enough macaroons to last a lifetime.
